1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ResumeBook (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By registering, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

3. Service Description

Semester Finance Program (“we,” “us,” or “SFP”) through our Service enables users to upload personal information (“Your Stuff”) via secure links. We analyze Your Stuff using AI to create insights. Analyses may be shared back to you or (with your consent) with employers, and may be used to inform suggestions and recommendations. The Service is provided free of charge for now.

4. User Accounts & Access

We do not require you to create a password-protected account.
You receive a unique Dropbox link via email. You alone control your link and the information you upload.
We may collect cookies when we provide a web application.

5. Your Content and License

You retain all ownership rights in Your Stuff.
You grant us a limited, revocable license to access, store, and analyze Your Stuff for the purpose of providing, personalizing, and improving our Service. This includes personalizing recommendations, providing suggestions, and enhancing the accuracy, relevance, and network of opportunities to better serve you.
You may impose restrictions on which of Your Stuff is excluded from the insights we generate by notifying us in writing.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain Your Stuff for a minimum of 30 days after upload.
You may request deletion at any time by emailing arjun@semesterfinanceprogram.com, and we will promptly delete Your Stuff.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

Upload any information that infringes third-party rights or violates any law. For the abundance of clarity, this includes any proprietary or privileged information or secrets you obtain under employment.
Upload any content that isn’t yours while claiming it is yours.
Reverse-engineer, tamper with, or otherwise misuse the Service.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violation of these Terms or for any reason. Upon termination, all licenses granted to us will end, and you may request deletion of Your Stuff as above.

9. Dispute Resolution

Arbitration. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms will be resolved by final and binding arbitration under the American Arbitration Association’s rules.
Governing Law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as-is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the Service.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time by posting updated versions on our website or notifying you via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

1. Introduction

Semester Finance Program (“we,” “us,” or “SFP”) values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and retain your personal data through ResumeBook (the “Service”).

2. Data We Collect

We collect all information you voluntarily upload via your unique Dropbox link.
We may collect some technical metadata, such as IP addresses, cookies, or usage logs.

3. How We Use Your Stuff

We store Your Stuff securely on Dropbox (Standard plan).
Your Stuff is sent to Cloud AI Providers (OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, xAI) to produce aggregated analyses. We will not use services which use Your Stuff to train their models.
Analyses may be shared back to you (the uploader of Your Stuff) or potential employers (if applicable).
We may view anonymized version of the uploaded data and analysis to improve our product.
We do not use Your Stuff for any commercial purpose beyond the Service.

4. Legal Basis (CTDPA Compliance)

As controllers under the Connecticut Data Privacy Act, we process your data on the basis of your consent (uploading data) and for our legitimate interest in improving the Service.
You have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data under the CTDPA.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for at least 30 days after upload.
You may request deletion at any time by emailing arjun@semesterfinanceprogram.com; we will delete your data promptly.

6. Your Rights

Under applicable law (including the CTDPA), you may:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccuracies in your data.
Delete your data (see Section 5).
Opt out of any future data collection or analysis by ceasing to use the Service.

7. Security

All data is stored on Dropbox using AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.2+ in transit.
OpenAI processes data over encrypted channels and does not retain it beyond 30 days.
We implement administrative safeguards and restrict access to authorized personnel only.

8. Third-Party Services

We rely on third-party services, including:

Dropbox. We rely on Dropbox’s security and compliance (ISO 27001, SOC 2).
Cloud AI Providers (OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, xAI) via their APIs.

We may rely on additional third-party services in the future.

9. Minors

Our Service is available only to users 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors under 18.

10. Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notification at least two weeks before taking effect.
